Overview of the Scheme:

The primary goal of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme is to enhance the skill development and competitiveness of artisans, particularly those engaged in traditional industries such as handloom, handicrafts, pottery, weaving, and more.


Benefits of the Scheme:

1. Registration: Artisans can register through designated government portals or local offices by providing basic personal and occupational details to verify eligibility.

2. Recognition: Artisans receive a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.

3. Skill Upgradation Training:

   - Basic Training: 5-7 days with a stipend of Rs. 500/day.

   - Advanced Training: 15+ days to modernize techniques, improve product quality, and introduce artisans to new market trends and technologies.

   - Financial and Digital Literacy: Training on finance management, banking systems, and digital tools such as e-commerce platforms and social media.

   - Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship: Guidance on starting and scaling businesses, legal compliances, and accessing financial resources.

4. Toolkit Incentive: Rs. 15,000 in e-vouchers at the start of Basic Skill Training.

5. Credit Support: Collateral-free loans up to Rs. 3 lakh at a concessional 5% interest rate. Loans are provided in two tranches (Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh) with tenures of 18 and 30 months.

6. Marketing Support: Assistance with quality certification, branding, e-commerce onboarding, advertising, and digital marketing to improve market linkage.


The scheme will also onboard beneficiaries to the formal MSME ecosystem through the Udyam Assist Platform. Registration is done via Common Service Centres with Aadhaar-based biometric authentication. Verification follows a three-step process involving local authorities, district committees, and screening approvals.
